Get Earthy
Touch the earth! Get in the dirt! One of the more woo-woo or silly things that I do every day is touch our earth. It’s not actually woo-woo or silly it just usually feels so when I do it. Because it’s so easy in our busy day to day lives to not feel it, we have to make a conscious effort to do so. What I do, at a minimum, is in the morning before heading out for the day, I take my shoes and socks off and stand in the grass. When it’s nice out I’ll walk around and soak in the morning sun too. When it’s cold I try to count up as high as I can and then run back into my house! That’s why it feels silly and woo-woo. At home in St. Louis, I do this year round unless we have one of our full on ice storms. Here in Germany, there’s already frost on the grass but I’m still holding strong. On days that we’re busy we barely see the sun, barely touch our earth and get very little natural vitamin D along with all the other nutrients and health benefits that come straight from being outside. So I have to make this silly effort to get it! Personally it’s been very beneficial for my sleep and for de-stressing. Try it out! Or let me know how you touch the earth!
