This article on metabolism is a bit dense, but it does a really good job of explaining why counting calories and "energy in" vs. "energy out" is not as simple as it seems. Definitely worth a read if you are looking to improve your eating habits or have been frustrated with 'diets' in the past.

* In home personal trainer tip- start your workout with a thank you and an intention. Say 'thank you' out-loud, (if you are indeed at home working out) to your mind and body for this workout you are about to crush. Then set an intention by asking yourself "why am I doing this workout?' Don't overthink it, just take a sec and it will really improve your mood and motivation!
