Fitness Assessment Explained

You’ve called us, asked us your initial questions about fitness, health, and personal training.

You've thought about having a trainer come to your home, leading you through strength, power, balance, and cardio.

You might still have some fears, but you are motivated and excited to get started because you know you need to make a change. So, here’s what’s next.

We will schedule a time for a client relations manager to come to your house or office and conduct your fitness assessment.

This is the last step before meeting and beginning with your at home trainer! Let’s break it down.We pack a lot of info into this hour meeting, but it will give us and you all the tools needed to ensure that your new fitness journey begins on the correct foot! We begin with a physical activity readiness questionnaire. We want to know how your overall health is now and check if there are any reasons you would need to check with an MD before starting an exercise program.

Then we’ll get some details on anything that may affect how you exercise. Medications, previous injuries, disease or chronic illness, and anything else you think might help us understand your current well being. We also take into account your age, body composition, and daily repetitive movements and habits. From here we’ll move into your movement assessment. This is where the fun begins!

Checking how your muscles and joints react to some simple movements can tell us a lot. You will also learn your first few exercises and feel your heart rate increase as you exert yourself. This won’t be a full workout by any means so you can wear whatever you are comfortable in, but we may ask that you remove shoes. Slowing back down, we get to your ‘why’. This is the heart of the assessment and its totally up to you how much you want to share or not.

Understanding who you are, your goals and ideas and fears will help shape your plan. We will discuss psychological barriers and experience with fitness throughout your life up until the present. We can also discuss nutrition and overall wellness tips and advice. And finally, logistics. We will go over preferred days and times for your training sessions to make sure that your sessions are structured to provide the most consistency.

All of the above comes together to start shaping your programming. It is completely individualized built around our fitness training expertise.

By then, the client relations manager will have a great idea of the best trainer on our team for you!Next thing you know you’re multiple sessions into your first package and making small daily changes that add up to the strongest and most confident you!
