Senior Fitness Series: Beginner or Athlete, We Have You Covered

We work with people who have always been athletic and still have that drive, that competitive push. They want a challenge and are up for learning new moves with a fast pace. However, they also want to reduce pain and stiffness so they can keep up with their grandkids. They won’t slow down and stretch or practice balance without their trainer guiding them through it. And they are always thankful for the guidance to slow down a bit.

They are still learning to focus on being kind to their bodies and to accept that age does have its effect and their trainer is there to keep them feeling their best. If this is you, you may be feeling frustrated that the sports you used to play and the conditioning you used to do does not feel the same. And you may think you could use some help but have memories of your old coaches yelling at you.

We are here to help without the yelling! We will give you the tools you need and boost your self-esteem and quality of life by giving you those feel good endorphins you used to get after every workout or game! Yes, we admit, the specific exercises we teach you and the speed at which you do them may be different, but if feeling your best is your goal, we will do everything we can to show you how to get there!

On the flip side, we work with many clients, seniors or not, who have never ‘worked out’ before. We love to gently show them the power of movement. We meet them at their level of understanding. We get that this is all completely new information, and overwhelming. We cheer them on out of respect and we encourage questions. And before they know it, they are able to do daily tasks with ease! And they become the fitness expert in their social circle!

Starting something new takes courage and we don’t discredit the step you are taking here by trying something brand new out of your comfort zone. And if you are honest with yourself, you know that stepping out of your comfort zone is when the magic happens!

Yes, it takes work and practice and is not always completely linear, but you were meant to do tough things, and the reward for your effort is worth it. All of this sounds great right? But maybe this still sounds like too much of a major change. Maybe you think we will start out listening to you but then we will want you to change your whole life- follow a strict diet, no indulgences, etc. No way! We want your quality of life to be high, we want you to enjoy life!

And we see fitness as the catalyst to this. We will have plenty of advice and resources for any questions you have about wellness, but we will shape this around the relationship we've built together from understanding your values.
